Equivalent frame models of masonry structures in just a few straightforward steps
MEFGen is a user-friendly application designed to assist Finite Element modelling of masonry structures in MidasGEN and SeismoStruct. With just a few straightforward steps, it facilitates the creation and exporting of equivalent frame models of masonry structures (generated using different methodologies proposed in the scientific literature), starting with the definition of the building geometry.
Main Features
- Effortless definition of the structure’s components (walls, openings, slabs/floors) CAD-based
- Definition of masonry properties from Table CS.5.1 of the Application Addendum of NTC 2018 (ltalian Building Code), or through custom user input
- Possibility of inserting RC floor ring-beams with respective reinforcement
- Capability to simultaneously modify the characteristics of specific parameters
- Possibility of modelling masonry bonding of perpendicular walls through the automatic introduction of rigid links
- “Copy floor” tool, useful far copying various elements to different floors of the building
- Different display options for 3D rendering and their corresponding equivalent frames
- Equivalent frames can be exported in .xml format far SeismoStruct or in .mgt format far MidasGEN, respectively
